:consolation: all great things come to an end.. so now we have to go back to our normal existence sans Tiggrr reports :dramaqueen: so do tell... you look like you are online.. but are you really here... or a figment of our over-active imaginations?

Tiggrr was up at 4 am for a 7 am flight to Houston. In Houston there will be a 4 hour layover before a 2 hour flight home. On various return flights from Bonaire I have spent 4 hours in Montego Bay airport or an infamous 2 hour layover plus 4 hour extension at Newark. Despite a possible extra cost, there is much to be said for the Delta connection which leaves BON at 3:45pm. You are able to dive most of Friday.

Been there, done that.

Have to say though, it was a nice flight. Not even 1/2 way full. I passed out before we even took off. Had the entire row to myself and they even served breakfast. The flight staff was most excellent and you could tell they had done this before. I got up at one point and almost the entire plane was sleeping.

We actually have a 4 hour layover and then a 4 hour flight home. George Bush Airport sucks. We arrived at Terminal E where the International flights arrive and after all of the Customs stuff had to walk forever and take the train to terminal A. I won't ever complain about Detroit Metro again. At least there its all one building and there is a train to take you from one end to the other.

I'm just crabby that we have to go home. And the last day we were there the seas were completely flat.

The only good thing about this airport is the free internet from the Co Presidents club.
:D

Continental pushed the Saturday departure time back to 8:30 for our July trip, so we're going to sneak off for a couple of early morning dives on Friday morning. Should have 21-22 hours SI prior to departure on Saturday, which should be fine especially if we keep it shallow on Friday. :D

If you are going to do that....try Yellow Submarine. There was soo much to see in the shallows. There is "garbage" like a tire at 5ft and what not that tiny creatures make their home. And the moorings have tons of stuff growing on them at around 10ft. Could have stayed there all day.

T, it sounds like you had a blast on your trip. I love the details as it does make one feel they are there too. Thanks! and the photos are wonderful! were those from the rented camera? Glad you had a safe trip. Now you'll have to rest a week:sleeping:

Great Pics Tigg! Cool bunny ears. So what's been your favorite part of the vacation? I just finished my travel arrangements for Bonaire during the first two week of June! I've been dreaming of visiting Bonaire for many years and your posts have inspired me. I can't wait to get there!

Why not??? Is that a rule of the camera rental company? Do they require you to use (and pay for) their photo processing for getting the pics off of the camera onto DVD or something?

I was thinking of renting a camera with strobe for the day while I'm there. Who did you rent the equipment from? What model of camera did you get?

It's great to hear that you're having a good time. Keep the posts going... I'm really enjoying them!

Hey Thanx for the compliments.

Yea, they told me not to open it myself. I'm sure as to protect their camera in case you do open it and then cause flooding for any reason. They didn't charge extra to put photos to disc. The only bummer was you had to come back to the shop to change battery. The camera only lasted about 1 1/2 dives for me. But, in 2 days I took 465 photos. So, we had to work a little to coordinate dives with battery changes and the times the shop is open. They are only open til 5 weekdays, 12:30 on Saturday and Closed on Sunday. The last day we had to literally throw our gear from our back to the truck and race there in our wetsuits for a battery change.

Every time we took it in, they uploaded my pics to keep the memory stick clear for me. It was a 2gig stick. They also keep your pictures in their computer for 10 days in case the cd doesn't make it home for whatever reason. They will send you a new cd.

We used fisheyephoto at Bonaire Dive and Adventure. I really liked the guy we dealt with, Michael. He was very cool and answered all my questions. The first guy we talked to kept trying to upsell me to using a strobe. I know the pics would have been better but, I didn't want to deal with learning a strobe and shore diving and trying to get nice pics all in 2 days. I know how to use a point and shoot though. He was not helpful and kept telling me I 'had' to use a strobe to get color. If he had been cool, we probably would have rented a camera sooner. But, I'm super happy with the pics we got and with the service we got from Michael.

This is the camera they rented me.

I really want one now. :D

Hey tiggrr,

Thanks to you and Phil for sharing part of your trip with Jay & I. I am still recovering from the trip home. After getting up at 3am (our time) it was after 9pm before we arrived on our front porch. I have not even had a chance to download my pics from my camera to see if I have any worth posting.

I won't be able to view your pics till I get home. Pics from the board are blocked from opening here at work (I don't understand why they would rather me work than hang out here on the board :confused4: ...go figure).

OMG!!!
you ripped off the poor PiNk bunny ears :shakehead:
I'll report you to PETA..

What happened to the bunny ears. :bunny: Did they have an accident?? You were so cute in your ears and easy to spot too!!!

I'll try and post a report later this week after I get a little more caught up.

Hey Tigg....

Pic's please???? I didn't go in the office today, got called in to the chamber for a dive accident, not major, patient in good shape. Did you leave any pictures on the camera???? Great to meet you and glad you had a good trip home!

Liz
