TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Three scuba divers became trapped in Pingtung County with one drowning and two injured on Wednesday (Aug. 14).

At noon, three divers entered 2-meter waters in Houbihu, Kenting, Pingtung County. However at 2:41 p.m., due to poor sea conditions and strong waves the three were swept away by the current and collided with wave-breaking blocks in the left water outlet of the Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant, Taiwan's only active nuclear power plant, per UDN.

One male diver managed to reach the shore and call for help, while the two female divers were trapped.

Firefighters arrived on the scene, and one of the female divers, a 36-year-old, was rescued but was in a state of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. She was pronounced dead at 2:42 p.m. after being transported to the hospital, while the other two sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The Hengchun, Kenting, and Fangshan teams, along with the Fourth Brigade, dispatched seven vehicles, 16 personnel, and one boat, led by Deputy Brigade Commander Lin Chueh-ling (林珏伶) of the Fourth Brigade.

They entered the water at noon and swept away around 14:41! Can't be right?
Only two female divers were trapped and the third diver raised the alarm. Who wrote the title of this report?
