But seriously--Wait until you get in an open water situation and get a few dives under your weight belt before you make any decisions about BCs. When I first learned to dive ( 1 year ago last month) I was given a too big jacket and aside from it being too big, I thought it was just fine. Then I got certified and started to read everything I could get my hands on about diving and gear configurations, etc. The more I dive the more I get a handle on what I like and what I need. It is now very different then when I got certified.
You may not appreciate the rear dump valve now, but believe me, it is the best place for one. I have a BI ScubaPro that has a dump on the corrugated inflater hose. I have never used it. Most of the time I can't even remember it's there. The only time I use the inflator to dump air is when I first descend. I don't use the pull method, though. I use the traditional deflate over your head.
