I have a pretty good feeling the fisherman caught the thing vs. retrieving an already dead carcass. Having spent some time looking a fishing methods on the Indian Subcontinent - fishing is not a sophisticated endeavor, and meat that is warm to the touch is much preferred vs. refrigerated fish/meat. Heck, for a small fisherman this is a bonanza day vs. small catches of Bombay Duck.

Can't say I like it though. But then again, I saw entire families begging in the streets too. I found abject poverty so much more distressing.
