My sister is just about to do hers at SIDS in Samui on my recomendation.

So until she says other wise its the only place I could recomend with a straight face.

A shop by the name of Aquanauts in Pattaya Thailand have some really motivated and well educated Instructors. They do have a very nice and big dive boat with plenty of room and the food is descent also.

In my idea, the quality of diving in Phuket is best. And there are very positive comments here on a new diveshop, Sea Bees Kata, with experienced instructors.

The best Thaialnd diving is around Similan and Surin and the good diving is around Phuket and PP.
Go to west coast from Dec to April. I recommend Khao Lak where you can dive in Similan and Surin.

I did mine with moskito on Phi Phi island. Great diving, great boats and experienced staff. I haven't dived on the east coast yet but I hear it's nowhere near the quality of the Andaman sea.

Yes, Samui/Koh Tao isn't as good as Phuket/PP. And I would for sure avoid Pattaya!
