Diving a laid over oil platform structure off the south Texas coast I found 3 anchors a couple weeks ago. Not sure why but The smaller spade and drift anchor were chained together. I also found a very new larger spade anchor. Not a bad haul.

items i found underwater while scuba diving:

dive knife, dive mask, snorkel, weights (a couple of them, hmmm would they be part of a search and recovery class by another instructor?), dive torch, toy figurine, a couple of dive gloves, stainless steel banger,

lots of cigarette butts, plastic of all sorts, some tires,

lost a buddys' fin , lost a whistle, at one point, nearly lost my fin, bcd ..... nearly got myself into a serious accident.... don't ask as i wont give any more on the topic. but one thing i can say it was stupidity in action and it would never ever happen again. ;)

One gold ball earring - Fish had been chewing on it
Womens costume jewelry - mostly earrings
One portuguese coin - modern (and not found in Portugal) and other assorted change
Weight belts
Intergrated weight pockets
Sunglasses
Masks
All kinds of plastic deck furniture and other items after Hurricane Wilma in Cozumel

Lost divers on drift dives looking for their group

Fishing Lures
Fishing Reel
Some assorted, dive gear. (Masks, snorkles, weights... all with sea growth)
perfect condition 4CF Spare Air probably lost a day before
Three old ceramic Japanese Hand granades on seperate dives (without the explosive contents)
And some WWII Coke Bottles from the early 1940's

Found AND recovered:

3 pairs of glasses (one worn the whole rest of the day by surface support)
2 pairs of shorts, one a very short female pair... I don't want to know any more. ;)
Several shoes, no pairs
Wrist watch
3 paddles, one of which was homemade from duct tape and a steel tube, another good enough to keep
fancy spoon
long handled axe (the kind you use two hands for)
brass knuckles (OK this was better left on the bottom)
2 lawn chairs
and the piece d' reistance..... an iPhone. It even powered on with the Apple logo (briefly) after drying it out.

All on one snorkel trip down the lower American river in Sacramento - not to mention the huge number of bottles and cans my surface support refused to accept.
