We spent our surface interval today anchored in a pretty bay just north of Playa de Ocotal. I stripped off my wetsuit and dove in wearing only my Speedo. I swam to the beach where I discovered that I felt little tiny pinpricks all over my body. The pinpricks subsided in short order. After a short walk on the beach I swam back to the dive boat. As I approached someone shouted "Aren't you bothered by the jellyfish". Duh! I finally got it. Turns out I swam through Thimble Jellyfish clouds both times. What a weird feeling. Stinging subsided quickly leaving only an itching sensation that lasted 10 minutes or so.

I'm sitting here with a fever now, which is often a side effect. Fever appeared about 2 hours after returning to the dive shop. Fever is about 100.5 degrees. Using Motrin and Claritan.

This is our fourth day of diving here. There were no Thimble Jellys around us during the first 3 days. We were here this summer, too. Four days of diving and no Thimble Jellys.

All for now.
