A group of 5 of us went diving to Lake Denton today with our instructor to do our Rescue Diver scenarios. We went into the lake and left our dive bags on the shore like we normally do. When we came up from our dives we went back to the shore to discover that several of our dive bags had been stolen, along with a dry bag, a wetsuit, our clothes and shoes and a cooler. They had also taken my friend's car keys and taken his truck which had our wallets and cell phones in. We had taken 2 cars but they had taken the keys to the other one so we were completely stranded. We managed to contact the police with a phone belonging to someone that lives next to the lake but we were stuck there for a few hours until someone could come to get us.

The police were very helpful and I really hope they find them but I just wanted to warn people to be really careful when diving there. I would hate for it to happen to anyone else.

Sorry about what happen to you hope they catch the person that stole your stuff.

That pretty much sucks!
If it can happen at Ginnie with lots of people around it can happen anywhere. Time to start leaving a guard with the gear.

That is just really low. Of course, thieves are just really low. This really stinks, and as remote as the possibility is, I hope you and your friends get your stuff back.

I always lock my stuff up in the car when I go. Too many low lifes swimming by the "no swimming" sign.

Sorry to hear the scumbags stole your gear. I hope you get it all back...

I honestly havent had a problem personally but I can certainly see how it happens, the last few times I have went they had cement barriers blocking the boat ramp area so we had to park across the street. I just geared up in my trunk put on my gear and walked across the street, left my remote in the car, and stuck my keys in the wetsuit. Otherwise most of time time i'm there I dive dry and leave my wallet and keys in my pocket.

man thats terrible, I know that sinking feeling you get when you go back to the place you left your car and its not there. Had mine stolen 5 years ago.crack head took it for a dope run. i hope they find your stuff.
