The Fling reported seeing a whaleshark at the West bank on Monday. Reports were from 25-45 feet long. Armed with that news, we proceeded to the West bank for tuesday morning on the Spree, and saw not one but two whalesharks, one 25 feet long, one 45 feet long, accounting for the size discrepancy of the reporting on the Fling. Woo hoo

Awesome! Where is this, now? West bank of what? Are the Spree and Fling boats that leave from Galveston? What's the site? Inquiring minds want to know...

Cool. Nice find. They're in season on the north end of the Yucatan now, so I guess a few of them wandered up yonder. Hope to be swimming with them in 20 days off of Holbox.

It was very cool, and very exciting! I was there and this was my first whaleshark sighting. Once we saw them around the back end of the Spree boat I grabbed my mask and dove right in. I got a great view and it was a great experience! I will post my trip report tomorrow. I just got home and the computer will not stop swaying.

Awesome, Debra, I remembered that you were at the FG this weekend, so I was hoping you got to see them! What a treat- one I haven't experienced yet...
