.....another killer dive in paradise. Bubbled down over the sand and immediately saw several bat rays scatter - incredible. With big grins we leisurely finned over to the reef and started poking around. Vis was better than expected, and as I fired up my
NEW UK Light Canon, and it began to hum like a stadium light ;-), we found a bunch of really cool stuff, including two beautiful octopus. I really love the array of color at Diver's - purple sea urchins, green aggregating anemones, lavendar sand castle worms, yellow sulfur sponge, orange garibaldi, rust-colored gorgonians, black neoprene... you get the idea. The structure is great too - mini-pinnacles, mermaid's grotto, a crevice running up the end of the reef you can swim through - superb. The garibaldis were quite social, but the blacksmith and sand bass were a bit stand-offish. Eventually we reached our turn-around pressure and reluctantly headed back. But on the way, the bat rays had settled back into the sand, and this time, Andy and I were able to hover quietly just a few feet over one. We could've rode it if we were students of Scuba Schools of America, but we hadn't been trained to do that and so we held off.
A great, great dive. Thank you Andy and Aram. :14:
