Dont have make any wagers Don. Its here... ever heard of "Onstar?" Nokia plans to install GPS locators in their phones:

Don, you can have the last word..go ahead, your absolutely right.
None of what I said will come to fruition. You understand all this technology and trust all the corporatrions completely, thats fine.

It's not BS. It's true. If you are willing to sacrifice liberty for security, you don't deserve either. Franklin had it right.

We need to go back to actually following the constitution.

By the way, the location ability using GPS in cell phones is already available and in use (for 911 calls, and I'm sure it could be perverted in some fashion). I just so happen to be carrying one made by Samsung with the digital technology by Qualcomm. The locating ability is good to +/- 10m.

Big brother is definitely watching.:mean:

Having once been in Law Enforcement, I respect Rick's decision to turn in the stuff he found. My question is, if Rick or anyone else found a suitcase full of money, whould you turn it in?

That's without GPS. Anyone who thinks he can hold an activated radio transmitter in his hand without giving away his location is kidding himself.

Nope. I would keep it and not tell anyone.

The GPS chip is only for use if the call fails or the party in trouble cannot identify their location for emergency personnel. The +/-10m holds for GPS if it is not in some type of communication (radio) with another unit in order to solve the integer ambiguity inherent in single unit GPS locators.

"if Rick or anyone else found a suitcase full of money, whould you turn it in?"

That happened here a few years ago, several hundred grand (I forget the exact amount) and the guy did turn it in. When it was not claimed, the Sheriff's office kept it. That really encouraged others to turn in any future finds.

DB Coopers millions are still out there....!
Didnt he bail out over the PNW....if you find it dont turn it in!!!

Lord knows doing the right thing has burned folks before, but I hope that you don't come to regret it. And as for the "probably nothing"! I don't see how it can't be connected with criminal activity of some sort. As someone who lives in Eastern Washington I'm glad you turned it in and am hoping the FBI follows up on it. I don't want to open the paper in a few months to read about the mysterious red box that was found and not pushed through the proper channels, but if it had it could of prevented some horrible event.

"Those who give up liberty for the sake of security deserve neither liberty nor security."
