If you’re stuck you’re stuck. Take the course and get certified.

Ask questions, do some reading and be honest with yourself. After your last OW dive you should know areas where you need more experience or training.

Remember, this is just the beginning. The certification gets you in the pool. It doesn't make you a lifeguard.

BTW, some of those top of the city shops get a bit pricey. It's a good thing to shop around. Go east young man, go east. :D

$15/day would have been acceptable if 2 things hadn't happened:

1. Their own website posted the price of $10http://www.thediveshopcanada.com/rentals.html

2. We had a conversation that went like this:

Me: Do you have any tanks available?
Shopkeep: Yes, how many?
Me: Just one.
Shopkeep: That'll be $15.
Me: Ummm......I'm just keeping it for the day.
Shopkeep: Well......This is Saturday and we normally charge $15.
Me: Whatever.

I had been to two shops before and neither had any to rent so I guess just like petroleum prices when demand increases prices increase too :06:

Ok, the Devil is back again...

If their website says $10, and this person said $15, why did you not point out that their advertised price was different, rather than just shrug it off as "whatever"?

Otherwise it's false advertising & you have every right to report them to The Ministry of Consumer & Corporate Affairs.

I would guess that the cost of an air fill is $5. So the $15 is $10 tank rental and $5 air fill. At least that's how most shops I've been in seem to price them. Or it could be a compromise of a weekend rental, since they're not open Sunday so you're getting 2 days (although that's moot if you can't get fills on Sunday). Locally I think it's $5 for the tankl rental and $5 for the fill.
