At last...the wind curse is broken! Our final dives in Key Largo this afternoon were some of the most special dives I have ever experienced. The wind died, the sun was out in full force and the seas were flat - what more could a girl ask for???

Well, how about being a part of the christening ceremony for a brand new dive boat? We were on the maiden voyage of the "Tropical Odyssey" with Rainbow Reef Dive Center this afternoon, and it was quite an event. We even had a pre-dive christening ceremony...which I THOUGHT I was recording, but apparently the camera was in photo mode and I missed it :depressed:

And to top off all the pomp and circumtance, when I came up from the first dive, I was told that Reefman and TimG had been there to introduce themselves...and I missed them! That was my only regret of the day :shakehead: Thanks so much for making the effort guys...I'm SO SORRY I missed you!

We are heading out early in the morning. Don't have time to upload videos and photos tonight, but when we get home I will be sure to post a trip report with final pictures from today. All I can say for now is that I am leaving Key Largo with a heavy heart. Today was the best dive day I've experienced in a long time...if not ever. At least I'm leaving wanting more :D

Glad you had the terrific experience today CajunDiva! Beautiful day, great for March.

I'm so glad you finally got great dives in, CajunDiva! You and I have experienced the same "blown out, crappy weather" when we've gone to KL. Please leave some good karma there....I'll be diving KL again sometime in 2014!

I think 2014 will be a "Chamber of Commerce" kind of year in Key Largo. I SOOOOOOO didn't want to leave this time. Our next trip is scheduled for June, but I'm thinking there will be a couple more runs down there before the end of the year :D
