Your loss really. It’s a great magazine. You want the magazine, pay for it. That’s one thing the enhanced level is for. To cover the printing & mailing costs. There was no problem until they created the Enhanced membership level with its increased fee.
Candidly, I'm a bit teary eyed. We often go through this world with few recognizing our feeble attempts to make a difference. Major thanks to Tom and the entire staff of DAN for being so nice and making me look so good. Friends will seldom help you move. But, Tom is the kind of friend that would help me move bodies.
FWIW, Dive and let Dive is reserved for my peeps here on ScubaBoard!![]()

You get the premium version of me all the time!
It is indeed unfortunate for me, but I may not be able to afford diving anymore, let alone reading about diving in a print magazine. When DAN introduced the Guardian level of insurance, I went for it, believing I would get better value out of enhanced insurance than enhanced membership. A Family membership Regular level is $60, and the Family membership Enhanced level is $100. My total DAN bill was $295--that's a lot for dive insurance, considering I'm not diving as much as I used to. My wife and I are on a budget, and I have to be mindful of the small cost increases in everything that add up. I'm still a SB Supporter, though!Your loss really. It’s a great magazine. $35 more per year ($40 per family) and you get the printed magazine, significantly more Emergency Medical Transportation & Travel Assistance Benefits, plus Severe Infectious Disease & Quarantine Coverage, Search & Rescue Coverage, and Global Security Evacuation coverage the standard membership doesn’t have. Seems worth the money to me.
Important? This is the type of sentiment that makes me teary eyed. I love my life and it's been a good one. It has had its triumphs and tragedies, but it's been quite varied, interesting, and mostly fun. The best parts have been the friends like you that I've made along the way. Yes, I'm blunt, tend to swear, and can be quite stubborn (manic) about issues I believe in. I'm sure I have more faults than qualities, but to quote Popeye: I yam what I yam! So, while I'm not all that certain that my story is important, I hope this synopsis is at least entertaining for y'all to read. There's so much that had to be left out!but it was an important story to tell!
Thnx for sharingCool! Is there a version of this available online?

Same. I read the article about 15 minutes ago, and here I am now. It is a small world we inhabit. That is true in a whole lot of ways.I had just finished reading the article when I found this thread. Congrats Pete!!
