WA-hoo! The author himself has joined this table of wandering readers. An honor, sir!

And happy birthday to you, and hope you found the book you wanted!

I'd love to see a guide on making diving cheaper, now that I've become addicted to a potentially pricy sport while trying to get through graduate school.

I was looking at the PADI encyclopedia online as well. For the next 2 months, I'm stuck with using amazon.co.jp, and there isn't a lot available on there. I can't wait for the ability to go to a bookstore and find an entire shop filled with materials I can read! You go to any bookstore here, and all you find are the same books on Japan and overpriced paperbacks. Not much else.

Hi everybody. Of course, I've been following this most excellent thread, and there's a bit of news regarding the book. It will be released in Spanish by Paidotribo in Spain. They've asked me to update a few things, and the domestic publisher wants the updates as well for a possible second edition. If the second edition actually happens, I'll announce it here and hopefully get some ideas from Scubaboard participants on how to make diving easier, cheaper, and more accessible. Thanks to all who have posted.

I don't have a copy of Deeper Into Diving, but since today is my birthday, I'll go out and look for a copy. -Clay

Happy B-Day, Clay.

I bought your book about a month ago, but didn't get to read it at all. I shipped it off to my sister, a new diver, in Israel for her B-Day. She's really enjoying it and says she has learned a lot from it. That makes you an Internationally Acclaimed Author!

And i took it with me to Eilat last week where lots of people saw it and liked it. As a new diver I'm getting alot out of it. Gabe sent, as a little side gift with the book, a Sherwood regulator. And from reading this book, I acually understood which kind it is (with the little bubbles) and how it works!
Thanks, Clay, and Happy Birthday,
Barbara

It was the first thing I read right after getting certified, (Kind of my present to myself for getting through it) and I still pick it up from time to time for reference! Good book to have sitting on your shelf! I think it should be required reading!

I got the PADI Encyclopedia when I took the equipment course, so far I've read three chapters in between other things...I'm a bit engrossed in the Nitrox book at the moment since I have a class in two weeks.....

I also bought the book recently (per a recommendation from SB members, of course) and am really enjoying it!!

Clay, it's very cool to see you posting here... hope you had a great birthday!

Thanks, everybody. I always get a big kick when this thread shows up. And, of course, I feel like a big shot for the rest of the day.

I put 2 new pics up on my website from a trip to North Carolina a few weeks ago. They're at http://claycoleman.tripod.com/id41.htm and http://claycoleman.tripod.com/id33.htm Sharon and I are headed to Bonaire on Friday night. We're trying the direct Continental flight from Houston this time (we've arrived at the island the past 2 years without any luggage from the AA flight from San Juan). I'll let y'all know how it goes. -Clay

I am interested in hearing how that flight is. I know exactly what you mean about AA and San Juan. We tried to leave St Lucia last year going into San Juan. Never happened. We flew out of the southern airport into Altanta.
