Has anyone dealt with the brand Beuchat? I saw that the VXT8 reg was a recomend by Rhodales but you don't hear about them much. Additionally, I notice some brands are more favored than others in different parts of the country( ie: West Coast vs. the East Coast). I assume that this is because the influence of the market share that different gear manufactures have in different regions.

Anyway, any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I have one Beuchat reg that I bought in '89 'cause it was a good deal. It has been a reliable good regulator for me. I believe it is the original "VS" (no number) model. We still use it regularly.

Hi

i have heard many good things about the vx10. But the parts may be a problem in your region....

My original OW instructor sold Beauchat. I am told by some students that they loved them. I tried one in the pool and wasn't that impressed. Sure, it was only 12 ft, but my AL regs worked better. And he paid $350 for his Beauchat. Go figure.

But, from what I hear, they are fine regs. However, there don't seem to be a very large network of dealers around - hence, I'm not sure that would be a good thing in the event of a bad failure on a dive trip or vacation to somewhere's that there isn't a Beauchat dealer...

In my groups of cave diving buddies, most of us use Buechat regs. They perform flawlessly. I use the VX10 for cave diving and O/W. I also own a ScubaPro Mk20/G250, and see no difference what so ever in the regs. I actually prefer the Beuchat second stage because of superior bubble dispersion. I also have to say that the size of the VX10 compared to the MK20 is another advantage. I do not deep dive, so I can only say that they perform great at 105feet deep. I plan on buying 2 of the VXT8's in the near future also, as I will be changing over to these for cave rigs. I love the hose routing ability of the reg. As far as service goes, that can become quite a hassle. However, we service our own regs, and order our parts direct from England.

Over all, I highly recommend Beuchat regulators. However, try to find a place that services them first.

even though i dont use that brand anymore i have dove with it before and it has allways dome me good but i really love my APEKS ATX 200 its breaths like a champ and so easy !!!!!!!!!!!
