Easy to see why everybody is recommending this dive company
From their site
Recommend a friend and get 25% off!
If you are already a PK Divers convert , if you recommend a friend who then dives with us, you will get 25% off your next dive
To be fair I didnt even know they had that offer.
I recommend them because;
they are knowledgable about the Poor Knights
they are super friendly and welcome even if you bring twinsets on board (unlike most other tutukaka dive operations who snear and make snide remarks about them)
they take you to sites that reflect well on your excperience level
they dont always take you to the same site (Probably not an issue for you out-of-towners)
If we are driving along in the boat and something cool pops up on the depth sounder they will let us dive it (as long as the conditions are agreeable)
They provide a great lunch
and they have the fastest boat in Tutukaka making the journey 30 minutes instead of up to an 1 1/4 hours on other boats.
They DONT tell me how to dive or how deep or give me time limits (If I want longer than an hour I have to plan it with them but they are cool on this anyway as they have the fastest boat in Tutukaka)
They cater to ALL levels of diver...
I already get good discount with PKDive as they like to support local dive clubs so I dont care about any "refer a friend discount" offer.
almitywife:
poor knights because ive never been to NZ before
is poor knights all boat dives or are the shore dives also??
thanks for the links guys... off to email
Almitywife....you know you have to come to NZ! We are right next door and it would be a shame to say you have never been here. The diving is great and the Poor Knights host a variety of sites for the beginner right down to the novice. The sites are such that you could have half the boat doing a 12 metre "look at all the encrusting life" dive and the other half doing a 130 metre "swimming through the black coral forests" dive....Heaps of fish, nudibranchs, encrusting life and because it has been a marine reserve for years you get MASSIVE schools of fish literally meatballing you on dives.. The last dive I did there we could see the surface from 50 metres down then all of a sudden it went dark as a school of thousands of trevally swarmed overhead....
I have dived vanuatu and it is nothing compared to the knights...in fact the only reason I would ever go back to Vanuatu is for the lovely people and the wrecks. The reefs are boring there.
Plus you KNOW you wanna come see Me and Packhorse...we could even take you guys for a local Auckland dive from our boats.
