Well, the presentation was very interesting. Bob touched on several aspects of the system, gave a bit of the history and explained why certain things are done in a certain way. He definitely provided some 'food for thought' to take home and to think about. One example he touched on was the gas management - "be back on the boat with 600psi" - is a very poor gas management system, he talked about at least 3 other effective gas managements concepts that are tought in the Fundamentals class. He also touched on skill sets such as safety drills and propulsion techniques, which are imperative in diving, and are fundamental in any type of diving, where it is recreational Caribbean diving or technical dive on a mixed gas to Doria. And at the end, Bob gave a hands-on presentation on how he configured his own rig with a side-by-side comparison to a tradition jacket style BC, and answered everybody's questions as to 'why' and 'how'. To summarize, the presentation was of a valuable addition, and a mind opener, which at the very least, just showed that there is an alternative way of diving that so many people have chosen to adopt in order to improve their diving skills, and therefore - enjoyment underwater.
