The difference between people with tattoos, and people without tattoos, is that those with ink don't care that you don't have ink.

The Hasadim are not into inking since the Torah forbids it. Therefore many of the rest of the Judeo-Christian creeds frown upon it.

The natives of Tahiti made it popular with French and English sailors, and therefore it crept into Catholic and Anglican Europe.

Today? Its a matter of trends. My own views are closer to those of BigT, cited supra. But a lot of dive students are inked these days. So it is one more thing that deserves tolerance, like anything else that does not necessarily hurt anyone else.

I have a tatoo on my right foot...its the world. This way I can keep it out of sight...or show it off depending on my mood.

Would I get another???....not in the cards.

And i just have to know...are you going to nair or shave your back?????

I've seen some cute girls that have tatoos where you don't see the whole thing unless you want to get slapped or arrested. Very nice. I hope they don't get old and fat.

I got it done at Bruce Bart Tattooing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL by Paul. I really love the way it turned out. When I went into the shop I brought a Fish ID book just so I could give the artist a couple ideas. So it is origional work. It wasn't flash hanging on the wall. It took just over an hour start to finish.

I have had thoughts of another one... but I think that will wait a little while. I think my mother is still in shock. I know she has no say in what I do, but I think it is the fact that my sister and I got tattoos the same day. My sister being a minor, my mother signed for her. But my mother hates the way my sister's tattoo turned out. So there is all this drama. And this is the reason I go to school many miles away ;)

Yeah I have thought of doing something. It is kinda funny this little patch that is forming. Hee hee. Yeah one of these days I ought to take care of that.

Well I'll have to tell a little story I have well over 40 tattoos and when my daughter was in 1st grade her teacher asked her how many tattoos her mom had. She replied 19 her teacher gasped and said 19 how many tattoos does your dad have? My awsome little girl simply replied 1 and its still not finished. I happen to Love tattoos it makes us unique and reminds us of a rite of passage. And if Michaelangelo painted the Sisteen Chapple Flat white No-One would want to see it.

I have a few tats that can only be seen if I want them seen. However, concerning face and neck tattoos, I think comedian Todd Barry makes a good point:

"Anytime I see a guy with a neck tattoo, I just want to walk up and go 'Hey man, you forgot to not do that' "

Those obvious tats seem like they'd be unavoidable regrets later in life. Or maybe not, just my opinion.
