IN THIS STORY
Community college beats Pirates
"For the first time in 11 meetings, the Pirates lost to Manatee Community College, dropping a 6-4 decision Thursday. The Pirates fielded a team of Double-A and Triple-A players, although former fifth-starter candidate Virgil Vasquez was touched for three runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings. Vasquez did have nine strikeouts and no walks. Steve Pearce homered for the Pirates. The Pirates typically play MCC at the beginning of the spring schedule. This game coincided with a regulation exhibition game against the Cincinnati Reds."
WOW, again WOW, GOOOO LANCERS (uhh, that's MCC for those who didn't know, I'd assume that would be most of you all out there). This totally made my day, thanks a bunch! Oh, and since nobody else has mentioned it, maybe a Rays repeat run at something better than last in the league?
