BZ in Navy talk means Bavo Zulu. Rick taught us that.

And yes, Mom is definately one of my nicknames. Even my husband calls me Mom.
Natasha is part legal now, my Enriched Air Card and lots of other things now have Natasha on them. I just never changed my passport....
which says Myrtle my real name.

NOT!

Was praise for a job well done when i was in. Not sure if there is another literal meaning, always assumed it meant "Bravos" for a good job.

Well thats not what was intended when I was given the nickname (BZ)
- Cupcake

When I was young (3 0r 4) I used to help my dad work on cars. I would get into truck beds and sand them and stuff like that. Well, I had an old hat that said ford on it, I wore it everytime I worked on cars. I didn't think little girls were allowed to work on cars so I said when I had my hat on I was Jack (the only boys J name I knew) So everyone started calling me that. I would completely ignore you if you didn't call me Jack. THe other nickname was given to me by my cousin who couldn't say Jessica... She called me Ducket. So everyone called me that too. My parents still call me both.

My nicknames now that I am an adult, at work one of the guys calls me Little Miss, and another calls me Miss Lady... Don't ask me why.

Jessica

...the more nicknames you accumulate.

As a youngster - Jetpad. Something to do with naturally curly hair was what I was told (anyone remember the Mod Squad - visualize the cool black dude's hair and you get the picture).

As a reckless young adult - Putter. Golf helped pave my way through High School & College. Played at National and International level. Great way to travel.

As an old fart - Tinman. Was a tenacious competitor - i.e. more heart than talent - in Triathlons. Shot my bolt at the World's in '92. Downhill since then. Ironically, a Half Ironman is also called a Tinman, so it has stuck for over a decade. Further irony when an insurance company used the Tinman in a diving suit for "what are you doing after work" - would love to get a JPG or clip of that commercial...who knows what the future will bring...

every once in a while i'm still called "Sparks" or "Sparky".
It comes from the old original radio operators and their large spark gap transmitters.

Later!

well, during my last job as a welder, kinda earned the name "sparky"

well i have had several names throught live before i started diving

first one would be from my father when i was younger (as in my butt still fit on his arm and my head on his shoulder) and it was sport because i was always playing different sports , it still gets used from time to time

next would be roadkiller, from when i raced RC cars(not the tyco ones either) i got the name when i ran onroad touring cars(was a rookie) and during one race i drove over someone then around him and the guys said "hey roadkiller, next time you do that try to make the rubber marks in the same direction of of the racing stripe on my body" from that time it stuck while i was racing, unfortunately scuba diving got in the way and i sold it all

my first of my two nicknames from diving is scubatooth (hence the user name) and this came from my openwater check out dive one from when i got to 20 feet i had a reverse squeeze in a tooth and came screaming to the surface (the people on the shore heard me from 20 feet of water) and man that hurt, not to mention having my mouth redrilled.

my next nick came from my DM instructor who because that there was a DM already named dan i was called lil Dan( both of us are bug guys just that he was tall and a little bigger,) and its stuck.

im kinda of stuck on how to get the polarfleece jacket monogrammed im getting made

My freinds pegged me with Raybo, but my wife calls me sparky.

And I'm not an electrician.

And I've been happily married for almost 21 years.
