Met a lot of great new friends on my trip to Cozumel. Got back last Thursday and it was my first trip there without my late wife, you always dove with me Coz. That's a nice side benefit to what we do...besides the incredible world we plunge into, we all share something (diving) that just a fraction of the people on earth do...and it's special. To all my new "dive buddies" I met, dove with, and talked to for the week I was on the Dive with Martin boats...thank you so much. And Nicole...if you are a scubaboard member, it still blows me away how much you looked and dove like my beloved wife. And that day we dove was the same day exactly one year ago that I lost her. And the really kicker in this is that Nicole's birthday was just the day before the dive. Incredible.

P.S. I am sooo thrilled at the progress of the reefs in Coz. For those of us you dove there before the hurricane disaster several years ago....isn't it just wonderful how the reefs are get better every year? Yes, I know we have a warming of the oceans problem, but compared to the terrible shape of reefs systems elsewhere in that area (like Belize :() Coz is looking good.

Glad to hear you had a nice trip. Just wanted to share a little story with you about what happened when I blew my kiss to Lisa. I'm sure people will have a wide variety of explanations ranging from pure coincidence to evidence of Something Greater, so take from it what you will.

I did my first dive of this trip this past Sunday at Columbia Pinnacles. Towards the end I was piddling around on the bottom, being mopey about not wanting to come up, y'all know how it is. Anyway, it popped in my head to blow that kiss so I took the reg out of my mouth and made a big sweeping gesture from left to right. I swear to you, the very instant I was done I turned my head just a fraction more to the right and out of nowhere a lovely sea turtle came slowly gliding up over the top of a ridge of coral just a few feet away, heading right toward me. It hovered and watched me for a second, and then paddled on by. I thought it was just such an incredible, beautiful moment, one I won't soon forget.

Wow, incredible! Her spirit is in the oceans. Thanks for the kiss. Means a lot to me. You're a good soul.
