yeah... the above pics happened over in Perdido Pass. They sunk a $2.5million boat. (a 61' Weaver).

The captain apparently didn't let a little thing like channel buoys/markers get in his way. he decided to cut across the end of the jetty when entering the channel and bottomed the boat out on the jetty.

Lucily the water there is pretty shallow....

needless to say, Alcohol was involved. the captain was arrested for "boating under the inflence".

so not only did they trash the boat, he got arrested and I bet he lost his job as Captain also and perhaps his USCG license for a while.

Yes the boat was named the Tar Baby. It was kept in the same marina where I keep my boat. They were on the way to fish the Orange Beach Billfish Classic. I actually was going out fishing the morning after the incident and saw the boat there.
