Temporary health insurance

This isn't about diving but I thought perhaps someone on this board could help me. My mom (non-diver) is going to Germany for 3 months and is thinking about purchasing temporary health insurance. Does anyone have info or suggestions where I can get some answers?

Check out AIG insurance. I use them every time I travel. Not expensive and not a bad idea at all to be covered while overseas.

She has medicare and they don't cover you overseas.

I didn't know that overseas aren't included. In Switzerland, overseas are always included.

In the USA it is very common for insurance carriers to exclude coverage while you are outside of the country.

If you travel aboard, Do you have to have a special insurance? Is it not much more expensive?
