Hi all,

I'm pretty interested in getting into technical diving. I don't have any end goals yet - I guess I'll just enter the realm and take my time learning and see where that goes.

I've got about 120 dives with about 25 of them in New England and the rest in the tropics. I'm working on the PADI Rescue Diver course now.

At the very least, some of the gear is pretty appealing to me. I just tried on a backplate and wing from a fellow who had an extra one on a trip and it was awesome. I'm already looking to replace my jacket BC with one of those. I've been to a couple of shops along I-93 since then and they could not really answer my questions or didn't have many to try on.

So, if you have any recommendations for a shop to try out, please let me know.

Thanks!

Try Aquatic Escapes in Londonderry, NH.
I second this, they have an excellent tech instructor. They are very nice people to deal with also.

Not sure if it matters, but

Tom Huff at Northeast Scuba teaches PADI and TDI
Aquatic Specialties is SSI
Heather Knowles is NAUI and maybe some other certs.

All three are well-respected in the biz.

Northeast Scuba can take you all the way through advanced trimix, and are on of the few shops in the area that can provide trimix fills.

I would get in touch with Mark at Andy's Sport Shop - Ski & Scuba Specialists he is a great instructor. My wife and I have taken a few classes from him. Full service Tech shop as well. Has everything you could need, most of it in stock 99%of the time. They have great prices as well on all the top name brands......
