Hi Everyone

I have heard recently alot of questions and statements about tech gear selection and would be interested to know what people are using. If you could post what gear you are using including the brands and models of the gear that would be great. also your qualifications
I am mainly interested in backplates, wings, regs, masks, fins and suits.

E.g
B plate - halcyon
regs - back gas apeks ds4 with xtx 50 second stage.

The idea of this thread is only for fun and i think it would be intresting to know what equipment choices people are making. Obviously fit and comfort are the most important factors.

Thanks for your posts.

which type of diving are you interested in? i have 4 different rigs for different diving...the regs mainly stay the same, g250s with mk25 firsts...

What I am interested in: Wreck diving survey, penetration and exploration, at all depths.

My rigs:

Oxycheq 18lb and Ali Plate (single tank) - rarely used
Halcyon Evolve 40lb and Ali/Steel Plate (backmount doubles, 4+ stages)
DIY Razor-clone harness and DiveRite Trim Pillow (sidemount doubles, up to 2xAl40 stages) - two of these.
Custom Divers 60lb dual-bladder with OMS Profile technical sidemount (sidemount doubles, up to 6x AL80s)

Scubapro MK25/S600 hogarthian (sidemount or backmount)
Scubapro MK25/2600 hogarthian (single tank rig) - rarely used
4x Apeks FSK deco regs

Drager Dolphin SCR
Drager Dolphin mCCR (KISS conversion - underway)

'technical' soft overhead? hard overhead? wreck? ccr?

let's see - sms50 for sm light, nomad jt for sm-ing three or more bottles, i think my steel plate is also dive rite, my aluminum plate is a kracken special with my web handle sandblasted on (love it!), light monkey can light, predator 'puters, pink jets (l for wet, xl for dry), a pink dss doubles wing, a halcyon singles wing, andy's dry suit, tilos undies, she-p and balanced p-valve, a dive rite low volume mask... so a whole hodge-podge of manufacturers!

What I like to do: technical wreck up to 240'

I've tweaked my rigs to be mostly just how I like them, though there's always room for improvement.

Single tank: H Pioneer 27 with SS inflator and DSS OPV; H SS plate/storage pak/cam bands/harness with DSS plate cut d-rings; Atomic yoke ST1 1st/caveringed M1 2nds on 7'/22" necklace hoses and bigass SPG; gulftex PT LEDs backup lights; Shearwater Petrel and dive watch backup - occasionally used for wrecks within rec depths, mostly for travel diving.

Doubles: H Explorer 45 with SS inflator and DSS OPV; H AL plate/storage pak/harness with DSS plate cut d-rings; Highland tank bands/bolts/derlin thumbwheels; H 300 bar manifolds or Genesis 300 bar 3500psi manifold; AA DIN M1s with caverings and long hose config, hatted drysuit hose as needed, bigass SPG; H Scout and LM 3W backups; Salvo 21W HID primary; Shearwater Petrel and Predator with dive watch backup; H and Salvo 400' primary reels with 36# line; H 200' spreel with thin line and 45lb H CC SMB attached.

Deco/Stages: AL80s and 40s, H or LM stage rigging, H 300 bar low profile valves, AA M1s with caverings.

Jetfins with spring straps for all diving; lavacore and Irkonji trunks for most diving, Pinnacle 3MM or 7MM merino elastiprene for colder water without long deco, Whites Fusion Bullet for much colder water and/or longer deco.

Craig,
Are you having fun yet? You have had three posts and over 100 different items listed. How can you make any useful sense of this?

BTW Fit and comfort are nice but by far not the most important considerations. Safety, reliability, redundancy, functionality are. Welcome to tech diving.
