Man, my TDI courses never had us attempting 150' requiring 30 minutes of deco! Hope you have the DAN master plan!

I don't recall the exact dive plan, but it was 13 minutes BT at 45 meters, and then staged deco as appropriate depths for another 22 minutes or so. I was on air and used my computer for the deco stops. It was almost identical to the V-Planner plan.

JeffG:
Huh?

30 min bottom time at 150 can get you 30 min of deco.

So ours was 130 for 25, then 120 for 25 for our two checkout dives. I don't remember the exact numbers, but that's around 20 minutes for the decos. I'm sure someone will check those numbers. The only problem is my buddy was diving double 80's and hit his turning point too quick, so we never made it the full 25, but did our stops as if we had.

Did your computer require longer deco than your dive plan with V-Planner? I ran your profile my version of V-Planner and it gave me 26 minutes of deco?

Yea I know I am way off topic, but have to ask

Cheers

Ive been doing research about tec diving because I plan to take a course. Just ordered some books from amazon including:

Technical Diving Handbook by Gary Gentile
Essentials of Deeper Sport Diving and
Deeper into Diving by John Lippman

This plus im getting the Tec Deep manual from PADI, which I hear is quite good, even from other agencies supporters.

for me,
130 for 25 (on 21/35 & 50%) is 15 mins deco. 120 for 25 is 10 mins deco.

(deco being from 70 feet and shallower -- deep stops cost you extra)

On my TDI trimix exam I had to plan a dive to 265 using 36% and 80% as the deco gasses and whatever dumb table that was in the book. An insane amount of deco. I'm going to start to use it ;)

ha! My dive plan for that one is to stay in the pub & get drunk while the other guys do the dive (or preferably they are there buying the next round)

My view is that there are places where you need to get creative and do the best you can with what you have (some say don´t do the dive). I just don´t agree that the Red Sea or California is one of those places. There you can "do it right" (not necessarily in the DIR-sense of the word), if you don´t because of cost, I think you should seriously consider doing something else.
