I just got this strange package in the mail. It's not ticking, so I'll do an unboxing in the next couple of days.

Waiting for updates from what's inside as well. I too ordered an S2 this week.
HP seat and the piston knife edge
Ok I couldn’t wait and decided to risk it for the biscuit, I really wanted a beak at the seat/piston

Just in case, I decided to make alignment marks

Now the microscope I have doesn’t have great focus, and the translucent Hp seat doesn’t really help much getting a sharp image but this really has very similar style to the mk10+/20/25 blunt edge pistons and the seat has no indent from the piston
They might be reusable (to an extent) after all, time will tell and so far I still have a spare seat

The surface finish on the inside “cone” (not really a cone like mk10 seats but more of a square step like the mk20 ones) of the HP seat seems a bit rough, and looks like it is machined not molded

That said, it tested at 130psi at a near empty tank; and after opening the HP seat retainer
Once I get a fresh tank I can retest and see how IP lookup actually is like ; but looks promising so far

Man, what if other manufacturers came onto ScubaBoard, got all kinds of free advertisement and harvested all kinds of seasoned feedback from users? Would they get the same pass? Seems like HotDive has found a goldmine.

Maybe if they came, listened and engaged we would finally get an mk2EvoTi and m11EvoTi

One aspect I don't fully understand with Christo lube MCG 111 for scuba use as your example above in the 0.4536 Kg (1 Lb) tub is how it is so cheap to buy from China compared with the USA manufacturer and the various scuba distributors in both USA and Europe.

Granted the American supplier ECL ships with a certificate of conformity and a batch test number and many China suppliers such as the one illustrated below don't. But they say Christo-Lube MCG 111 on the label and state it in the description original import so it must be right.

So it's another Chinese fake counterfeit copy. I did wonder.
Hard to tell them apart. Looked OK at first glance on the outside.
Mind you a Chinese copy at a higher price than the original would be an interesting plan.
Just goes to show how easy and manipulated you can make the fanboys customer base dance over a polish and shine and a whiter than white grease.

A question about the HP seat and the piston knife edge (I’ll look at them under the microscope but not in a rush to do that; but you might provide better clarity) — you mentioned cleaning the seat; does that mean that the seat is reusable?
Is the piston knife edge sharp or rounded (blunt/rounded)

This was actually the first question I had when I heard about this reg last year

If the HP seat is reusable I would be tempted to open it sooner than later as I wouldn’t waste the only service kit that I have
Thank you for the photos!

What is the main advantages of a sharp vs rounded knife edge?
Which would you prefer?
