Nice work! I voted for Surface Oxygen, but Deep History was also a good read.

The publication is very handsome. The two-column format works well, line lengths are long enough for justified text without obvious looseness. I would suggest you increase the leading between the two columns--it's narrow enough to interfere with reading flow. And I too like to print an article and read it off-line, so white backgrounds would be great.

Your suggestions have been taken into consideration in the second issue. The leading between the two columns has been increased, and the background is now plain white.
 
I just downloaded it. Not read it yet, though I am looking forward to it.
