Ok Divenutt315. We each have to live our own lives. I will just ask you to think about one thing, and answer if you can, or will.

Why are you in such a rush to do technical diving?

Speaking as a father of two ... 18 and 20 ... please, please, please wait to get into technical diving until you're a bit older. There is SO much diving to do and enjoy without the need to begin the technical path. Enjoy the awesome diving that Florida has to offer. Focus on solidifying your basic skills ... buoyancy control, trim, air sharing, mask remove/replace, no mask, propulsion techniquest, etc. Think of the extremely solid foundation you'll have at 18 to begin technical training if it still interests you.

I could possibly see you doing cavern, but adv. nitrox, deco. procedures and trimix really should wait. It's not just your age but also the amount of experience you have. At 48 dives you're really just beginning your diving career. I know I was ... and still am at 150+ dives.

Another thing that concerns me is that you haven't mentioned why. I'd make that comment to anyone whether they be 15 or 35. Why do you want to get into tech diving? It's not something to do just for the sake of doing it. There really should be a clear purpose to why you need to begin deco diving or cave diving. I've heard it said that unless you've done all of the purely recreational sport diving you dreamed of doing when you first learned to dive then you shouldn't move into technical diving. If there's still more to do and see within sport limits, go do that and see that first.

Slow down and enjoy the diving you're already qualified to do. Tech will be there in another 2.5 years ... or 5 years ... or 10 years. There's really no rush.

I am in no rush guys I just had them as ideas but all I really can do age wise is cavern and Adv nitrox and thats all I want to do untill I am 18 trimix, deco procedures or full/dpv/stage/extended range cave is not my plans for 15 years old if it helps to know I have done 27 wreck penetration dives some at 115-120' can't that relate a little to cavern diving whats so harsh about cavern diving Is it even considered techanical ... I do not in any way disagree with any of you I only ask becuse I am curious

That's my cue to excuse myself from the thread. You might want to leave your real name in your profile here so we know who you are.

ciao.

No, it doesn't help. Actually makes it worse. A diver with 48 logged dives and no formal training HAS NO BUSINESS PENETRATING A WRECK. Pure and simple. Please slow down and dive within your limits. Where the heck are your parents when you, a 15 year old without any advanced wreck training, are penetrating these wrecks? :shakehead:

I do have wreck penetration training I took the wreck specilaty course with padi and deep diver specialty course which allows me to penetrate wrecks for ex a wreck at 110 would allow me to penatrate 20' into it going by the rule of no more than 130' from surface

Kid wait till you are in your 40's.....then move on to tech.. :D

Why are so many newly minted divers in such a hurry to be 'Tech'?

After 20 years of diving I'm only just finding a need for trimix. What's down there that you are in such a hurry to see?

It takes around 100 dives before most OW divers have a comfort level and degree of experience that they can really be said to be 'advanced OW' (ie they are not a liability to divers around them, and can truly look after themselves when things hit the fan - at least in open water). At your level of experience you are not aware of what you don't know. Cards count for so very little nowadays.

Show your parents how much the tec gear and training costs then ask them what they think.
