Its not at all a problem to find a charter to bring rebreathers out to the Oriskany, but you'll have to pay for the day, rather than the standard trip, due to the increased time the dives would take.

Damn near any of the 6 packs would do it, and I bet any of the cattle boats would do it if you pay for enough seats.

Another site, thats deep(200-250' though) is the MegaDan(IIRC), big tug, but closer out of Destin.

Anything deep out of PCB will be a LONG way out...

The Birmingham Queen is a steel party boat in about 150' of water.
The USCG Zennia is a bouy tender resting in about 190'of water.
We have a Coast Guard 100 mile COI Delta dive boat and are currently working
with few Tec instructors on running trips. clay@diversdenpcb.com 850-527-8577

No extra charge for rebreathers on the H2O Below

On regular recreational trips, tech divers that bring one set of doubles and up to two stage tanks may conduct one deco dive and will be charged as a recreational diver. Total run times should be limited to approximately one hour and forty-five minutes.

Because of the additional weight and space requirements on the boat, there will be an additional charge for tech divers wishing to bring a dpv "scooter", more than two stages, or other additional equipment. Call the Captain at (850) 291-3501 for details.

Charter Boat H2O Below - Dive The USS Oriskany in Pensacola, Florida

The statement was in regards to two technical dives.

The problem you're going to have with the Oriskany is finding a charter that will take you out for a 2rebreather tech dive trip for a reasonable price.

Two technical dives will obviously take much longer than one, especially with a realistic SI between the dives.

That being said, I don't think any of the operators will turn someone away, as long as they get compensated for the extra time involved.

Pat Green at Panama City Dive Charters on Thomas drive will be your best resource for Deeper dives. Pat is an avid diver and runs a dive boat and Dive Shop. Look him Up

I was able to find one that works with me on the trips I book. It's a little more per person because there are only 4 paying divers rather than 6 but we're only paying the full charter rate for 2 rec dives and doing 2 tech dives. I got out there twice last year and already have my first trip this year fully booked. I expect to book another 2-3 trips this year. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Clay posted the two wrecks I was going to. We are doing our upcoming advanced nitrox and deco procedures class on some high relief limestone bottom just alittle past the Queen though. Our Parker zips out those 42 miles pretty quick. The Zennia is in 180' and is further to run. Huge fish though!!! FYI the Strength is listed on Diver's Den's website as in 142' and for some reason it has never been corrected. Clay can you help with that?
