I only shampoo and condition my hair every other day as the ends get dry and I am trying to grow it out with minimal breakage. I only rinse it before diving if I shower at all, which I usually do if diving dry. I put it in a ponytail and do the insert-head-in-neck-seal thing so I am not yanking on the latex but it catchs the hair at the nape of my neck and pulls it out.

I keep my hood on while putting on/taking off my drysuit and keep all my hair tucked up in the hood. It also makes the seal slide on easier.

I do powder them, it still pulls out clumps.

Viscous agents are gross though and often petroleum-based :yuck:

Which is why I recommended one that was NOT petroleum based.

First, for the neckseal, this may not be a popular answer...but McNetts Seal Saver really does help prolong the life of your seal and will help keep the damage off of it from the hair products. Then...use hair products to protect your hair.

Ice Diver is totally correct when recommending putting your hair into a braid.

Second...so that I don't have to rewrite an article...check out "Hood's n Hair" at:
