Bob Sherwood must be going easy on you. I seem to remember at the end of the day of my tech 1 classes I found myself fully clothed in the shower huddled in the corner crying!

Good luck on your class :D

Mark

I feel like I'm about to get my Fundies card revoked at times :)

Its jus' that you normally cant Look in the direction of a (DIR,UTD,Tech) course unless you have $300-$500 to drop on an "intro" class...

Its something I'll prob check out "someday"...

The situation your proposing (free?) seems like something I could swing... especially if your thinking of doing it at Whitestar.

Fundies was the only recreational level class that was actually worth the cost to me.

You could jump right into a deco procedures/advance nitrox course but I would advise against it. I've seen a few divers do this and after completing the course they realize they dont have the basic skills to do more advanced dives.

You will feel much more confident going into an advance class having completed a GUE or UTD fundies type class regardless of what agency you head to for tech level training. That confidence you gain is worth the price alone.

I can't quite go that far, since OW got me diving :) but in broad, I completely agree. The price of Fundies is only the price of 2 or 3 PADI specialties, but the outcome is VERY different.

If you wanted to take a proper class you could always do GUE primer instead of fundies, especially if you're unsure or feel like you aren't ready. I'm more than willing to promote the organization and style of diving as I believe the training is excellent and it really will make you a better diver. I'm not saying I can answer all your questions but I can probably find out for you if I don't know.

I'd be game for this. I'm sure I could get a couple of my dive buddies to attend as well.

I'm really excited, it seems like there's definitely some interest. I'm going to start putting some material together and I'll send PM's out to those interested and make a post with details at a later date. I figure June/July-ish.

I'd be interested in more info. Of course, my interests depends on locations for the seminar and the dates. Looking forward to getting more info.

I'm interested, pending location and dates.
Please add me to what ever list you're putting together.
Thanks.
Jay

Are you looking into getting an instructor for a GUE primaries class or just talking about doing some demo type dives?

Depending on how many people are truely interested I might be bringing in an instructor. I talked to Bob a little bit about this, waiting to see what the actual number will look like first.
