TDI - Advanced Nitrox - Chicago

Hi,

Does anyone know of any TDI Instructors in the Chicago area? I would like to take an Advanced Nitrox course. Is there an online database with this info?

Also, can the book for this course be purchased online? If so, where?

You can pick up a copy on eBay. Visibility Unlimited sells them online. They also teach the course. The best instructor for TDI Adv Nitrox and Deco in the Chicago area (actually Rockford) is Greg Such. He is a very competent instructor and does a lot of deco diving for fun.

Yup, earlier this month. We are doing some deco dives in Milwaukee this Sept.

Brett Byers is a great TDI instructor. He teaches the advanced nitrox and deco procedures class together, and he has a class forming soon.

Brett is pretty good. He was one of the staff instructors when I did my IDC. I don't know how good he is as a tech diver/instructor. But he had a great personality while teaching. I think he is still teaching out of Sea Lions. Shawn Harrison is also pretty decent. He's in the Naperville/Aurora area. He teaches Adv. Nitrox and Deco.

I'm just finishing up a TDI Adv Nitrox/Deco class w/ Dale Bennet (of the Enterprise out of Waukegan).

I'd definately recommend Dale - I've been diving with him for years now on the Enterprise and he's a great teacher. Very picky, which is of course a good thing with this kind of training. He's even got us rigged up with special sensors to track our ascents & stops.

This is a very worthwhile course, IMHO. I'm looking forward to my newly minted TDI card in a couple more weeks...

Hmmm - that's odd...

When did you email him? I'm going to see him soon for our final course dives and I'll mention it to him - wonder if the dreaded 'spam filter' ate your email...
