Taxi cost

I will be in Cozumel on cruise ship in late March and I am not diving with the Cruise line operator. I need to get a Taxi from the Puerta Maya (Carnival) pier to Blue Angle Resort/dive shop. I have tried to figure out what the fare should be but I can not find the zones that fit the two places, I would like to get Pesos for the Taxi but can't figure out the rate from one to the other.

Any my help would be appreciated.

Figure on something in the vicinity of 70 pesos, give or take. Taxis at the cruise pier may want to add a premium charge however. I have never caught one there.

It is only about a half mile. A cab is not going to want to have sat in that line to pick up cruise passengers and then end up with such a low fare as the standard charge. Perhaps you could find a couple going to town, a typical fare, and sit in the front seat with your bag on your lap for $5. That would be gravy for the driver.

Then have BA drop you off close to the ship afterwards.

I walked to town from Puerta Maya on my one cruise ship visit two years ago, but I recall that the cabs were offering to take us for $5. Even though Blue Angel is a shorter ride, I doubt they'll charge you less since that's what they're getting from all the other cruisers.

Unless you have easy access or the need to have peso, USD $$ will work fine. $5.00 USD one way should cover the cost. You may also want to ask fellow cruisers as you mingle or wait to get off the ship to see if others are also going to Blue Angel. To return to the ship you may meet up with other cruisers who will want to share a cab or if not, just walk out to the sidewalk and hail one heading south. Have a wonderful cruise and Dive day !
