Tank Rack

Recently i purchased two tank racks from 69incss.com and have been extremely happy with the quality of the racks. It turns out their company not only makes tank racks, but they can fabricate anything you want out of stainless steel too. I called them up and asked them to make me a vertically standing tank rack for my boat, instead of their horizontal style they market. Now the proud owner of two very sharp looking stainless steel tank racks i just wanted to spread the good word about my experience with them.

I am going to work on figuring out how to upload pictures so you can see them, but it could take me awhile because i am not very computer savvy.. they have some pictures on their site but, this gives me a good excuse to show off my boat too!

I was surfing on the internet a few weeks ago trying to find a tank rack and i found this company called 69 Inc SS. Now right off the bat i liked them, but it turns out they make high quality stainless steel tank racks too. I wish i could find the forum that had the link i followed the first time but i figured i'll just pass the news along for the next guy. Hopefully this helps someone else out, there site was 69incss.com

Yep thats me, i bought it when i found it thats how i knew it was a high quality tank rack... (its just John btw.) Several years i've just found ways to get my tanks to stop rolling around in the trunk (mainly stuffing stuff around it) and i tried a few foam ones but they never worked out for me, so finally having something that works is great, so i felt like sharing.

Med. i thought so at first too but its nice having a rack i wont have to replace in about a year when they fall apart...

I made my own tank rack using a couple of foam pool noodles from Wal-Mart and a couple of pieces of polypropylene rope. I cut the noodles in half to get 4 pieces of equal length and spaced them out so they could hold 3 Aluminum 80s side by side. Then I punched holes in each end and strung them together with the rope, knotted to keep the foam pieces at the proper spacing. All told, it cost me about $5 and 20 minutes to put together, and it's been keeping tanks from rolling around in the trunk of my car for a couple of years now. If I need the trunk for other stuff, it's also easy to roll up and push to the side.

I made mine out of 2x4s and some foam pipe insulation.

I made mine from the pool foam floats, PVC pipe, and braided rope. I used 1/2 inch pvd to put in the hole down the center of the foam tubes to keep the rope from slipping through. I also gives the foam a little more stiffness. works great. I only wish I would have made it to hold 4 tanks side by side.

I also made in the same way. The pool noodels is only $1.45. It works very well..
Don't waste your money for another accessory.

I think JohnD's interest is in vertical tank mounts, which are a bit harder to DIY than horizontal ones (though my own pool noodle-DIY's work fine for me). How's about we hear some do-it-yourself tips for vertical mounts?
