What is the liability of having a fill station at your house? We are wanting to get one so we do not have to go 100 miles to get air. Is this a good idea if we have about 6 guys that will help with the upkeep?

How about in the use of the fill, such as a dive accident?
Keep in mind that anyone may be sued for any reason in this society. Even if acquitted the cost and disruption of defending ones self can be enough to take the fun out the whole deal.
If there isn't enough value in this proposition to cover a local legal opinion and whatever that leads to (waivers, insurance, nothing) I'd sideline the plan.

Dive shops are not the only place to get your tank filled. Check out the list from this site and you might find someplace a lot closer then 100 miles.
