There are lots of great diving sites in Taiwan.

The dive scene, of course, is much more of a local one and Taiwan definately lacks the same 'resort diving' atmosphere that you'll find throughout Asia.

With this having been said however, many dive sites are great.

There are lots of small Islands throughout the country, Green Island and Orchid Island being at the top. Other locations include Xiao Liu Qiu and Kenting.

Have a look at www.taiwanscuba.com for some more information.

Cheers,

I realise that this thread is really old but I cannot help but add some info as the diving in Taiwan is excellent and one of the best kept secrets in Asia. e.g. Taiwan is one of the few places in Asia where you can see schooling hammerhead sharks. Visibility over on orchid island is some of the best in Asia at about 40m year round. More info? Check out www.taiwandive.com - Kenting - Green Island - Orchid Island - XiaoLiuChiu
