We ran into a problem in september where the regional jet to San Pedro Sula on TACA was overweighted so they left the bags behind. We did eventually get the bags back. It just took two months of phone calls to do it. AKR did their best to help us with the situation. Unfortunately while they could see the bags were still there, they wouldn't release the bags to them.
We needed to find an interpreter to call them. They have a line in english, but when we tried to call it, they would put us on hold forever. However, in spanish we got a variety of responses, including one where we were told our bags were stolen, yet the AKR employees said they were still there.
FInally they said we need to fax them copies of our passport and an inventory of what was in the bag. Two days later the bags finally showed up.
