Looks like you’re completely remaking the foot pocket. You’re getting close to remaking a total fin if you had the connecting hardware.
I’m real interesting to hear about your progress and a performance report once you’re finished.
I'm curious too.

Fun to watch. Back in the early 1980's I met Tom Sims here in Santa Barbara. Our History — SIMS Snowboards | Since 1976 We shared stories from the surf industry. I had helped with marketing with Body Glove Wesuits. Plus grew up in the Surf culture 1960's hermosa Beach. California. We looked at the ski blinding and he sent me several samples. Looked good, but the time screwing it all together and cost of the snap buckles kind of spoiled the idea of blending snow boarding hardware with Force Fins. But I never give up on the idea and next year will be coming out with a future line. Enjoy watching creative minds...

Anyway but first I thought I would grab some 10mm rubber strip and cut out some thicker fancy looking springy indigo rebound rubbers using their thin ones as template, with also some thickness grinding required to accommodate a step in the fin to lift the foot pockets giving me 20mm extra fit for my foot which
should be adequate for me so first I added some quick blocks to gauge the effect of lifting
Grabbed some screws and started screwing, my foot fit tightly, but not the 300ton spring strap
and so during my heightened productiveness and another 10+ days no reply, another message

Your fins obviously don't fit your claimed sizes. Why make these things so narrow, a foot is a foot not a sausage
Your springs have so much resistance, Arnie couldn't pull them, they'll crush the achilles tendon
What's taking you so long

I have a pair of these fins and like them. Of course I've only ever owned one other pair of fins so I don't have much other experience. I found that I had to go down a size, I think I have a medium, I'd go look but they are packed for a trip. I normally wear a size 13, but the ones I tried on my feet were swimming in them.
I did end up taking the spring straps off and putting on the adjustable straps on the fins, and now I see that the springs must be too strong. I've never used springs before so didn't have anything to compare them to.
I like the fins. I like that they are nice and stiff as the last pair I had I could feel them bend when I kicked and felt like I was over kicking in them. I'm a swimmer so I don't know if my frog kick is 'proper' or not, and I don't know how to do a reverse kick, but I've had no problems with either a flutter kick or a breast stroke kick.
My only problems I've found with them so far, besides the springs, is packing them. I have them in a carryon bag right now and they take up a lot of room so with my back plate and fins I had a hard time putting much else in the bag. I have to put my regs into my reg bag and will have to put them under the set I suppose.

Eric reached out to me and asked about your situation.
A size 10.5-11 US typically fits excellent in our pockets. The pockets are sized for boots. Are you using them as a barefoot fin? Also, the foot pocket should fit tight to reduce side to side movement of the fin. Could you take a picture of the fit with dive boots on? I am sure we can resolve this without adding the spacers.
The nuts are the appropriate size and designed to tighten onto themselves in the front only. The hole in the front of the stiffener is also larger. These two features make the fin much more efficient for this reason…
because the stiffener is a separate component from the fin blade itself it is force to stretch when the fin is cycled through the power stroke (movement like kicking a ball). This cycle provides around 90% of the thrust in the entire kick cycle. This is true regardless of the fin. The return stroke provides only 10% of the forward thrust and is extremely inefficient. So, the bolts tightening on themselves combined with the elongated stiffener hole allows the stiffener to simply dis-engage on the recovery stroke, this allows us to reduce the rigidity on the the stroke that is the least efficient in thrust.

You know Ranch I had a look at your site before I bought your fins, I was impressed, and checked the sizes, I saw no XL just large covering 10-13+ and thought wow these guys have solved an impossible mystery of time, fitting fins over such a range of sizes the replaceable pocket MUST be an elasticised compound in order to cater to such a variance
But alas you're just another selection of delusional people misrepresenting what they have to offer
There is already a photo in this selection of emails of my booted foot unable to be forced any further into your far too small pocket
Here's one for free
