Interesting, I work for a small store that sells furniture, boats, electronics, appliances, and most anything else you would want in a home. I repair the consumer electronics and sometimes install the same.
I've seen the rent to own biz, then I've seen renting homes vs buying them. In the end buying is almost always better if you do it often enough. If you dive 4 times a year I'd say rent, more then that and I'd suggest buying gear. The more gear you have the more you'll dive. It's a hassle getting rental gear rented and returned on weekends, so many don't dive often due to that fact alone.
