hi guys,
just a quick report on the treasure hunt that Frogdive held yesterday (disclaimer, hubby also works for Frogdive)
i dont know how many years this has been held for but yesterday they were expecing aboot 30 people but final numbers showed 105 divers plus families!!!! (thankfully Luke always has enough food!!!)
there were about 40 prizes ranging from backpacks, caps, log binders to airfills, tshirts, , HMAS Brisbane dives, new tank, torches, a couple of sets of fins & masks, a $1600 Oceanic computer, dive luggage and a Mike Ball trip!!!
the Almitees won a $50 airfill voucher but we gave that back to be redrawn as we are fortunate enough not to have to pay for fills
the treasure hunt was run from Balmoral Beach.... a very shallow dive around the nets showed dozens of seahorses and pipefish and as you can see from the pics, the kids in the families were able to play safely amoung the divers also
coolest thing for me was seeing some of hubbys ex-students win! a 10yr diver won a airfill voucher, his sister won new fins and mask, her boyfriend won a new torch and their mum won a new wetsuit!!!! (as they were so lucky we asked them for this weeks lottos numbers btw). AND another ex student (aged 15yrs) won a new steel tank.. the kid learnt to dive with his dad, brother and sister and ive been seeing them every month out diving so good to see some lucky winners!!
