Suunto Vytec Versus Uwatec Smart Pro

i am about to get my first dive computer, and the vytec seems the the most complete choice: solid build wristtop with conservative algorithms, big display, hoseless air integration and i havent read a lot of bad things about it in this forum.
but then i go to my my local divecenter and they give me a salespitch about Uwatec Smart pro being the only intelligent choice. because its algorithms work in the right way in and out of the water concerning microbubbles.
i am aware that the smart pro isnt ai but is its "new?" algorithms worth the loss of ai..?

I'm not aware that Uwatec has a new algorithm going, but I consider the Vytec to be too conservative to dive with. I also like Uwatec computers, and if in the market, would buy the Smart Pro because I don't need AI any longer and prefer how they work.

Suunto also makes a nice product, except for their software. Unless you're going to be doing many long and repeitive dives, I don't think you'll have a problem with either. If the AI means that much to you, get the Vytec.

I have both. Have been a Uwatec fan for many years and only got the Vytec because I wanted an AI and my LDS gave me a deal on one. So far, I also like the Vytec and it is nice not to have hoses. If AI is not a big thing for you, I agree with MechDiver, get the Uwatec. Remember in the end it is a matter of personal preference.
