Remove battery and leave the back off. Is this to prevent over pressure.
That is what I've been doing for a number of years now. I even pull the batteries for trips over mountains now. I've had the thing get bumped on in transit, and try to tell me it was diving when I got back to sea level.
I suspect, put have no proof, that some of the problems may be from similar cases.
Leaving the back off doesn't prevent pressure changes inside the case, only in the battery compartment.
The case is sealed from the battery, you can flood the battery and not the computer.
