Suunto stinger battery replacement in Maui????

Well... it seems like the link I posted earlier said that someone had replaced their suunto stinger battery without any problems, and without any specialised equipment

Luck can always be a redeeming characteristic. :)

I can understand that your average jeweler doesn't want to potentailly be responsible for ruining a $1000+ piece of equipment for the $30 you're going to pay him for changing the battery, but that doesn't mean it can't be done

I don't know enough about how these things are set up to refute the claim. But I do know that Baron & Leeds (very high end watch dealer in Wailea -- read: Authorised Rolex Dealer) sends their customers to the jeweller I referred to for battery changes. :D
 
I have a Suunto Vyper and when I took my reg in for it's annual service Maui Dreams replaced the battery in my Vyper.

They had the reg for about a week total. I don't believe they sent it out though.

They would have done that in-house. The Vytec, Mosquito, D3, Vyper, Vyper2, Cobra, Cobra2 and Gekko are are user-replaceable. The D4, D6, D9 and Stinger are *not*.
