Suunto Cobra won't download to DM4

I like my Suunto Cobra until I try to download dives to DM4 on my PC. I know how to start the PC transfer function on the Cobra, and I know how to open DM4, thanks. DM4 signals that it is connected to the Cobra and is establishing communication, then signals that Download Failed and will not do anything more.

I suspect this is endemic to DM4, as I have had this issue with my Vyper in the past. On the other hand, I have managed to download dives from the Cobra in the past. So what can I do to make a download survive. Any serious help appreciated.

The general feeling is that DM4 is a huge POS. If it was one of Suunto's comupters you would have to go to a web site, that everyone who wants can see, to get all the information during a dive. There are several log programs thay are much better and stabler than DM4.

DM4 is very sensitive to which cable and drivers are being used. Some of the older cables do not work well or at all with DM4.
