Hi,
I have a suunto cobra for some time, but I never used the nitrox mode.
Two days ago I entered in this mode to see how it worked, but ow I'm not able to set it back to AIR.

in the manual it mentions to go to

MODE - 3 SET - 3 SET PREF - 3 MODEL

But in 3 SET PREF I only see LIGHT and UNITS, but not MODEL.

I do not see anything and in the manual it does not indicate that I have to wait or something like that to change the mode back to air.

Does anyone have any idea about solving this?

thanks

MODEL settings should be there in the 3 Set Pref menu

You can see the Cobra in action in the Suunto Cobra online class, and/or take it for a virtual dive with eDiving and divePAL simulators.

you can stay in nitrox mode, with a nitrox of 21% when diving air.
my Vytec DS is always in nitrox mode.

Set pref should be light, units, and then model. Just did it on mine. But I always leave mine in nitrox mode as well.

You can't change mode after diving until the No Fly time clears. Try it tomorrow.

I think it's the same as my Vyper. I never understood the need for Air mode since this is a special case of nitrox. I keep mine in nitrox mode all the time.

What he said. That's why everyone leaves them in Nitrox mode

because the display is not the same and it's useless to perturb not nitrox divers
some informations in nitrox mode cannot be understood if you don't know nitrox

You're probably right that they wanted not to confuse air divers. However the manual has all you need to understand the nitrox display and as a constantly learning diver you're better off using the nitrox display-- it will facilitate nitrox diving in the future.
