Glycerin:
Hey Rick,

You should try to find a dive sight that has a steeper and longer path from the car. If thats possible :)

Its possible! How about we forget the trail and just hike straight down to the beach:D

Nemesis Enforcer:
Rickster my drysuit guru, whadda you think? Should I attempt it?

Still digggggging sand out of my valves from Picknik Beech,

Tevis

P.S. I am SO EXCITED to dive with you three at the same time!

Glycerin-damn the squeeze!

How comfortable do you feel diving it?

wetrat:
Watch out for snot rockets... Tevis is the master!

I'm kinda sorta almost thinking about joining you guys on Sunday. El Matador is my favorite beach in all of SoCal. Picture postcard gorgeous. I've always wanted to dive there, but haven't convinced myself to attempt the trek up that trail in dive gear.

Anyone gonna bring an ATV? :D Or maybe we can stop by Home Depot on the way and hire some day laborers to carry gear. :D

Yeah, except part of the trail is some steep steps, and I don't think there's a path around them where you could pull a wagon.

Anyone own a pack mule?

I am all for the Dive Sherpa idea, Jim:D

You should join us. This could play out to be a very interesting day. If we show up and the trail is messed up from the rain, we could always find an alternate site.

if its still rainning, you can always use the grass as a slip-and-slide. could be alot of fun. just dont ask how to get back up.

You'll need a pack mule or Sherpa. :D Gotta love those steep stairs.

Oh well, can’t make it this weekend. Hope you guys have a good dive.

Haven't done a dive at El Matador, but I think it's one of the best looking beaches in SoCal (like Jim said). Especially for a romantic picnic.

Kevin, it is so good to hear from you.

Guys, I am getting bad reports from local instructors about diving after first rains. I have also heard about strange flu-like symptoms affecting surfers after sewage spills, but I didnt know about runoffs also.

At the present time, it looks like my Stress & Rescue may even be cancelled. Ugh, I am afraid I am going to have to bow out. Rick, what do you think about mid-week? I would even head your way to Ventura. And also, whenever you make the trek to Orange County, can I beg you to pick me up on the way?

I have some foodstamps under my mattress that we could trade, and Kevfin has a ready stash of Aluminum cans that I could get my hands on. . . .

Kevin (my night/limited vis guru) same thing, when do you wanna go diving ?

Wetrat, Im packin' my left nostril, and comin' after you!

Much warmth to all,

Tevis

I went to old marineland today and got 2 excellent dives in. On the way back, I went by El Matador. 1st the trail should be called heart attack hill. 2nd there have been fires in the area recently, which, after the heavy rains, is going to produce some major runoff, even land slides. I am going to gracefully bow out of this one. The people that know me, know I dive everywhere, anytime. This is the first time I have decided not to dive due to conditions. What H2Andy and headhunter said shouln't be taken lightly.

Now I, too, can say, have fun guys
