Suits for coldish waters

So, I'm new in this. I'm 50, just completed my open water and I've got the Advanced, Nitrox and Peak Performance Buoyancy for the next couple of months and on my way to Cohiba Islands this February! I'm a chubby 6'0" and 250 lbs and looking for a good suit to scuba in Peru. You can find 14ºF temperatures here, so most people use 7mm suits.

The thing is I've tried the Bare 8/7 Velocity Ultra Semi-Dry XXL and the Semi-Dry Scubapro Novascotia 7.5 XXL but both were super tight and almost couldn't close the zipper.

Do you recommend any Bare or Scubapro suits??

The Bare neoprene is very stretchy. I have the women’s version of the Velocity. Outside the size chart. Fits fine. Can’t zip up myself. So what? Just suck your gut in and have someone else zip you up? Very comfortable suit.

Bare also has the most off the rack sizes.

14 degrees F sounds pretty cold...hopefully you meant Celsius!

chuckles .... my Bare drysuit was made in Malta. That is where the factory is.
