Ok here is the situation. My instructor and I have decided to rig up a steel 72 with pure O2 and hang off the back off the charter boat for emergencies or use as an "O2 bar". I have a barely been used Genesis flow by piston first stage, that I was going to use, and wanted to hang 2 second stages off of it. My instructor doesn't have much in the way of "extra" second stages kicking around the shop right now, and I want to make sure we find something that I'm not going to be fussing with to find parts for. So suggestions for a second stage that is inexpensive, reliable, very easy to service is what I'm looking for here.

Let the suggestions start flowing.

Thanks,
Jim

While I hesitate to suggest this since they have such poor support of custormers with spare parts a Scuba Pro R190 would work nicely. There is very little to go wrong inside since it is so simple.

Aeris A1 is easy, too. And relatively cheap. Just make sure what you use is O2 clean. We don't want any fires underwater!!

No worries, I have the O2 cleaning thing down pat taking care of my 8 current second stages. I was thinking about the Oceanic Alpha's, maybe a pair of used Alpha 7's or something like that, that I could get cheap enough.

I guess you already know that servicing that Genesis 1st stage, if it's the DAD model, is probably not going to be simple. I have a friend with one, and according to the Harlow book, you're supposed to change that schrader valve every service, and check it with a special tool that pressurizes the ambient chamber.

It's not the DAD model, just a very basic flow by piston first stage.
